SolveAbility for Helsinki
EDUCATION
Enough adults in kindergartens
When a child arrives at kindergarten in the morning, there should always be a familiar and safe adult waiting. Early childhood education professionals must also have the opportunity to do their work well. The wages must continue to rise through the salary program, and the city must persistently work to solve staff shortages.
Peace to learn in schools
A child's primary right at school is to learn, and to be able to focus on that. Teachers must also have the tools to promote an atmosphere of peace and respect, where no one is bullied or excluded. Let's put mobile phones aside during the school day, encourage play and physical activity during recess, focus on emotional skills, and increase teaching in smaller groups.
Investing in parks
Playgrounds, forests, and local nature are treasures for families. In nature families escape the rush of everyday life, find meaningful activities, and meet other residents. The city needs new homes, but they should not come at the cost of children's play spaces and local nature.
SUSTAINABLE ECONOMY
Growth through competence
Let's welcome new residents
I believe a good city grows through internationalization. We need new people, successful businesses, tourists, and world-class events. Success doesn't come from parochial NIMBYism, but from openness to new people and ideas.
Events, culture, life!
I want Helsinki to be a vibrant city of culture, events, and street cafés, where services can be enjoyed on the seaside boulevards of the city center, as well as in the neighborhood bistros. Let's build a new experiential playground, cafés, and kiosks in Töölönlahti Park!
